With a lot of sense Kičin approached simultaneously the solving of many problems in ceramic. He simultaneously tackles the issue of color, form, plasticity and functionality. As for the interrelation of colors in applying paint, his palette is rich, and the techniques used (faience, terracotta, angoba, crackling - intentionally caused cracks in the enamel give to his work a striking appearance, and various other glazing applications).

He was always ready to search for new forms of imaginative and inventive composition drawings on the ceramic surface. At the same time he created a cycle of human figures, which were formed almost without any obliging similarities to the real figures. Alternating masses and voids, a free play on the theme of the human figure is visible.

From a personal relationship with the ceramic expression Kičin realized a need for sculptural narrative. Ceramic figures remain his inspiration for a decade.
